Simmentaler Wildheuete

Its not very often that you see people cutting grass with a scythe, putting it together with their hands and a rake and finally let it transport with a helicopter to the valley.

But haying on the steep slopes has a long tradition in Switzerland. The wild grass is untreated and full of nutritious herbs. Even though the work is very hard and exhausting for the cow’s wellbeeing it’s well worth it.
